Asbestos removal and proper disposal at the Medina School (300 School St SE) located in Medina, ND 58467. An asbestos survey of the building was originally completed in April 1988. A copy of the survey is available upon request. The building was re-inspected in May 2022 and the inspection is included as Attachment 1. Site photographs from December 2023 are included in Attachment 2. Locations of asbestos containing pipe insulation are detailed on the steam tunnel map in Attachment 3. The building is a working K-12 school and may be occupied by school staff or students in other areas of the building. Abatement includes the removal and proper disposal of all mixed asbestos containing open-cell and fiberglass pipe insulation located in the underground steam tunnels detailed in the Scope of Work below. The abatement must be completed by June 28, 2024. 1.Interior Asbestos Containing Pipe Insulation: Removal and proper disposal of approximately 3,125 lineal feet of friable white/gray/tan mixed asbestos containing open-cell and fiberglass pipe insulation located in the underground steam tunnels throughout the school (See Attachment 3). A public Bid Response opening will not be held. The Division of Waste Management Guideline 12- Asbestos Disposal in ND Landfill Facilities - Attachment 5 should be referred to and followed during abatement and transportation. This Contract term (Term) begins on May 23, 2024 and ends July 31, 2024 2.The abatement must be completed by June 28, 2024 and all reports/paperwork submitted to the NDDEQ before July 31, 2024, which is also the contract end date. The STATE reserves the right to reject any and all Bid Responses in whole or in part.
