The awarded contractor shall cooperate with the Township Highway Commissioner and Engineer in developing a schedule for the surface preparation completion and the calcium / magnesium chloride application. The rate of application shall be directed by the Engineer in the field. Rates will be from 1.0 to 2.0 lbs./sq. yd. as determined from the Schedule of Area for the various townships provided in this proposal document. If the tank truck is used to apply the solution, it shall have a capacity of not less than 600 gallons nor more than 5,000 gallons. Surfactant shall be provided with the transport to add to the calcium / magnesium solution at the job site if site conditions are such that a lower surface tension is needed to obtain satisfactory penetration of the solution into the road surface
