State law requires a minimum of twenty-five (25%) percent of the state-funded portion of the contract for award to subcontractors holding current certification from the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services ("DAS") under the provisions of CONN. All materials for this work shall conform to the fence manufacturers specifications. o Posts on the Greenwood Ave side will be reused. Posts along the back of the property will be replaced 2-3 feet from the existing fence line in the lawn area. o On the wall side, fence wings will be added to prevent people from accessing the top of the stone wall. o All fencing, fabric and posts and hardware shall be galvanized. o Height of fence shall be 8'. o Chain link fabric shall be 9 gauge, woven of good commercial quality galvanized steel wire having a minimum tensile strength of 80,000 pounds per square inch. Top and bottom edge selvage shall be knuckled. o Framework shall be schedule 40 pipes as specified by fence manufacturer and shall be hot dipped galvanized with zinc coating weighing not less than 2.0 ounces per square foot in accordance with ASTM Standards prior to powder coating process. o All hardware shall be hot dipped galvanized as per ASTM A-153. o Posts shall be spaced in line of fence not further than 10 feet on centers. All posts shall be set in Class "C" concrete conforming to State requirements. o In earth, the hold for the concrete footing shall extend at least six (6) inches below the bottom of the post. Concrete footing diameter for all line posts shall not be less than twelve (12) inches in diameter and not less than 15 inches in diameter for terminal, pull or corner posts. The tops of the concrete footing shall be crowned to shed water. o Fabric shall be fastened to line posts with bands or wire clamps of No. 6 gauge aluminized or galvanized wire. These bands shall be spaced approximately 15 inches apart. The fabric shall be fastened to the top rail with wires. These tie wires shall be spaced approximately 24 inches apart. o Where it is not practicable to conform the fence to the general contour of the ground, as at ditches, channels, etc., the opening beneath the fence shall be enclosed with chain link fabric and sufficiently braced to preclude access, but not to restrict the flow of water.
