Walsh School District RE-1 is issuing a Request for Qualifications and Proposal (RFQ/P) to firms interested in providing Design-Build Services for their pre-engineered metal building bus barn project located in Walsh, Colorado. All correspondence regarding this solicitation shall be directed as stated in the RFQ/P. Question Deadline 03/12/2024 at 12:00 PM MT All questions concerning this solicitation must be addressed to the Owners Representative at the following (please refrain from contacting the Owner or representatives of Walsh School District RE-1directly): John Sattler, Sr. Vice President, Growth -john.sattler@nv5.com AND Steve Horn, Project Manager - steve.horn@nv5.com 719.252.1599 Walsh School District RE-1 (WSD) is a high-achieving, rural district in Southeast Colorado that serves 149 students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 12 th grade. The District is located in Baca County, approximately 280 miles southeast of Denver. In 2021, the District received a BEST Grant from the Colorado Department of Education (CDE), along with securing the required matching funds from a successful bond campaign that allowed the District to embark on consolidating and renovating their campus to provide a single, consolidated campus for PreKindergarten -12 th Grade students. The existing bus barn had to be demolished to allow for construction of the new school therefore necessitating construction of a new, pre-engineered metal building that will serve as the new bus barn. Walsh School District RE-1 ("Owner") invites Qualification Statements and Proposals from interested and qualified firms to provide Design/Build (D/B) services for a pre-engineered metal building. The Owner is conducting a qualifications based selection process to retain a firm for construction of the bus barn (the "Project") located at 301 N. California Street, Walsh, CO 81090. The Owner intends to secure the services of a Design/Build team, to include (at a minimum) Architect, Engineers and Builder, that will provide comprehensive design and construction services in order to complete the project. The Owner has retained the services of an Owner's Representative, NV5, Inc. ("Consultant"), to represent its interests throughout this solicitation and for the duration of the project. The Owner's Representative will manage, on the Owner's behalf, all prime contracts including the Design/Build contract resulting from this solicitation. It is the goal of this solicitation to select a Team that will be compatible with the Owner and the Consultant to provide successful design and construction services for the project. The Owner reserves the right to select the Team that it deems to be in its best interest and to reject any and all proposals. The successful Team will enter into a contract with the Owner for design and construction of this project and will be responsible for the proper completion of all Services and Work for the project. Information concerning the proposed Project and this request can be found in the following Sections. 2.0 PROJECT DESCRIPTION The intent of project is to construct an approximately 4,000GSF pre-engineered metal building that will serve as the District's bus barn and will generally include the following programmatic spaces: o (3) Drive bays with 1 large enough to fit a large activity bus o Parts room o (1) Restroom o (1) Office
