The City's water main distribution system consists of tens of thousands of linear feet of water main, with pipe sizes ranging from 6 inches to 24 inches, consisting of PVC, ductile iron, asbestos cement, and similar pipe materials. In FY24, a water main design will need to be completed based on the City's Asset Management Program, which was used to identify the rehabilitation area for this project. The Asset Management Program for the water main distribution system uses a risk-based modeling tool known as Integrated Asset Management Model (IAMM), which takes into account service levels, consequence of failure, condition, replacement cost criteria along with other criteria. Firms/teams are not expected to have specific knowledge of the City's existing waterlines, but are expected to demonstrate experience and knowledge on similar size and scope projects, including, but not limited to, pipeline design, pipeline rehabilitation methods, and probable construction costs. A general scope for this project includes: topographic survey work; utility investigation services; design of final construction drawings with 30, 60 and 90 percent plan submittals; preparation of bid documents and final cost estimates; advertisement and bid phase services; and construction administration services. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
