Renovation of a transportation facility in Addison, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility.

The Town of Addison, owner and operator of Addison Airport (KADS), a premiere business-oriented general aviation airport in far north Dallas County, Texas, is seeking proposals from qualified contractors showing the desire, interest, and wherewithal to: 1. To replace all 15 Sections (15' x 74') of the Fuel Farm Canopy. All sections are affixed to the frame on the 74' sides and affixed by cable at the 15' ends. 2. Outline / define recommended fabric/material AND thread specifications and warranties for this application. Outline warranties for workmanship and materials. 3. Design, remove, produce, deliver, and reinstall for each of the 15 sections of the existing canopy. Fabric 'sleeves' are to be crafted and reinstalled at each of the existing 21 vent pipe penetrations. These will reinforce the penetrations for the vent pipes. 4. Removal and re-installation of the 21 vent pipes to be provided by and contracted directly through the airport. That work effort WILL NOT be a part of this proposal. The schedule of vent pipe removal will be performed prior to the start of this project and the re-installation of the 21 vent pipes will occur after the new canopy has been installed, the holes have been cut and the canopy hole support patches for the vent pipe penetrations have been attached. Location of the holes for the vent pipes can be measured using the temporary vent pipes once the fabric has been installed and stretched in place. 5. Define and detail recommended work phases and durations for each section's removal and re-installation: i.e., work phases and approach for removing multiple sections of the canopy's existing fabric and subsequent crafting and re-installation. The duration that the canopy will be removed, when the fuel tanks will be exposed to severe weather, must be minimized. The selected contractor may need to alter their proposed phases and durations to minimize the impacts from heavy rain events and severe weather. 6. All existing tensioning hardware and cabling are to be replaced with new, and any damaged tracks are to be replaced or repaired as needed. 7. Plate Assembly replacement (plates securing the cabling) to be done only if needed. However, all white painted Plate Assemblies or metal hardware surfaces supporting the canopy hardware are to be reconditioned - sandblasted and powder coated. 8. Plate Assembly, tensioning hardware and cabling and a section of the canopy track, all removed from the damaged section, are available for inspection. Detailed design drawings of the existing canopy are not available. The winning proposer will be able to have possession of these samples of this hardware during this project. 9. Cable to be tightened across front and rear (15' ends) of each panel. Q & A deadline: Mar 11, 2024 1:00:00 PM EDT The Town of Addison reserves the right to request additional information or to meet with representatives from firms who may submit a responseto discuss points in the RFP before and/or after submission. This information or discussion may be used in selecting the preferred developer. The Town of Addison reserves the right to select or reject any developer or operator based on the Town of Addison's judgment as to which developer or operator is best qualified to serve the best interests of both the Town of Addison and this project. The Town of Addison may also extend the deadline for submittals, waive any defects or irregularities, cancel the project, request additional information, reject any or all submittals, and/or re-advertise and begin the RFP process again.
