CR Number: 2107050 OPWDD's Capital District DDSO is looking to obtain bids for the replacement of the window glass in Building 9D at our campus located at 500 Balltown Rd, Schenectady per the attached scope of work. This is a NYS Public Works Project and Prevailing Wages MUST be paid. Any questions or requests for clarification regarding the information provided may be directed to psespurchasing@opwdd.ny.gov. Total MWBE Participation Goals: 30% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business Contracting Goal: 6% If the site visit is MANDATORY you must sign in at the site visit for your bid to be valid. Please write clearly for communication purposes and ensure your email address is clearly written. Contractors are encouraged to ask questions regarding the specifications of this project at the site visit The purpose of asking questions during the site visit is to obtain clarification regarding the enclosed Project Scope. In the event that modifications are needed to the Project Scope, the modifications will be distributed by the CAPITAL DISTRICT DDSO Business Office to all contractors as an ADDENDA. Contractors are to prepare and submit their quotes based on the written Project Scope and any modifications made in writing through the ADDENDA. The vendor shall provide all labor and materials necessary to complete the work in a professional manner according to scope of work and architectural drawings if supplied. Work is to be completed within 120 days of award, unless modified below. This is a NYS Public Works project and prevailing wages are to be paid. Refer to attached specification for the following scope of work. Site must be cleaned and all materials secured at the end of each work day. Absolutely no scraps, especially fasteners, are to be left unsecured. Upon completion of before removal of equipment and scaffolding, contractor is to schedule a quality control and quality assurance inspection with Plant Superintendent. 1. Assessment and Measurement: o Evaluate the existing glass to determine the type, size, and condition. o Measure the dimensions accurately for replacement. o The replacement windows will have different dimensions. o Ensure compliance with local codes and regulations. 2. Glass Selection: o Consider factors such as energy efficiency, sound insulation, UV protection and New York energy code requirements. o Research and select appropriate glass materials double-pane. 3. Removal and Disposal: o Safely remove the old glass. o Dispose of the old glass in compliance with local regulations. 4. Installation: o Install the new glass, ensuring proper alignment and sealing. o Use suitable hardware (e.g., glazing beads, gaskets) for secure attachment. 5. Quality Assurance: o Inspect the installed glass for any defects, cracks, or imperfections. o Verify that the glass meets safety standards. 6. Clean-Up: o Clean the work area, removing any debris or residue. o Leave the property in a tidy condition.
