Demolition, site work, paving, asbestos abatement and renovation of a mixed-use development in Greensboro, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 13,376-square-foot fire / police facility; for the demolition of a fire / police facility; for site work for a fire / police facility; for asbestos abatement for a fire / police facility; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
**Per Addendum 1 the submittal date was extended from 03/01/24 to 03/27/24** The City of Greensboro Facilities Division is soliciting qualifications from qualified design-build firms and/or teams interested in providing professional design and construction services for renovation projects at 2201 Coliseum Blvd and 4208 Gate City Blvd. Along with a future station to be named when identified. Greensboro Fire Stations #8 is approximately 7,600 SF facility that was originally constructed in 1969.Fire Station #10 is approximately 5,776 SF constructed in 1957 Limited Original construction documents for the facilities are available upon request. The scope of the renovation projects for both Station #8 and Station#10 will include, but not be limited to the following: selective demolition and abatement, concrete repairs and replacement both interior and exterior, masonry repairs, apparatus bay renovations to include the lifting of the roof structure to accommodate a larger truck, roof replacement, complete interior renovations including the addition of new female quarters and all interior finishes, appliances, kitchen cabinets, doors and hardware, new overhead doors, new windows, fire protection system, plumbing replacement and repairs, HVAC replacement, new truck exhaust system installation, electrical, lighting, and generator replacement, low voltage replacement, exterior repairs and improvements to parking areas, landscape utility, and storm drainage systems. The Fire Stations are similar in design being the "Saddle Type Station" with the Apparatus Bays in the middle of the station flanked on either side with Bunk rooms, locker / shower rooms, and work out room, Day room, kitchen and office. The Design-Build team will be responsible for all services necessary to design and construct the fire stations renovations, including, but not limited to, those listed below: 1. Pre-Planning, programming, schedule, and budget review. 2. Preparing site, architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical design plans based on the Owner's criteria and program. 3. Development and refinement of cost estimates and project schedules. 4. Construction administration and observation including conferences, weekly site observations and regularly scheduled progress meetings with the City. 5. Project closeout, as-built drawings, establishment of warranties, guarantees, and training. Final start-up and certification of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
