Project Location 902-904 N. Pine St. Springfield, GA 31329 INTRODUCTION Terracon Consultants, Inc. (Terracon) is pleased to submit this report to Pond & Company, documenting the pre-renovation asbestos and lead paint survey of the Effingham County Probation Office building located at 902 North Pine Street in Springfield, Georgia. The inspection and sampling were performed on March 23, 2023, in general accordance with Terracon's Proposal PES227352 dated November 8, 2022. Interior and exterior building materials were surveyed, with homogeneous areas of suspect asbestos containing materials (ACM) visually identified, documented, and sampled for laboratory analysis. Suspect ACM samples were collected in general accordance with the sampling protocols outlined in EPA regulation 40 CFR 763, Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA). Samples were delivered under chain of custody to an accredited laboratory for analysis by Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM). Paint chip samples were collected and delivered under chain of custody to an accredited laboratory for lead content analysis by flame atomic absorption. This report was prepared to document the observations, analytical results, and findings from the sampling events. Although reasonable efforts were made to identify and sample all accessible suspect materials, additional suspect materials could have been located behind walls, above ceilings, in voids, or other concealed or inaccessible areas. Our conclusions and recommendations, with respect to abatement and/or renovation activities, were based on the available analytical data.
