Renovation of a mixed-use development in Owensboro, Kentucky. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The Owensboro Public Schools will receive lump sum sealed bids on a general contract Foust Elementary Kitchen Electrical Upgrades. Project Description: The Work consists of: the replacement of three electrical panels, new electrical circuits for the freezer/cooler as a result of the freezer/cooler upgrade, and the replacement of the receptacles (devices only) throughout the kitchen. One of the electrical panels to be replaced is located in a storage room and serves power to the kitchen panels. A new feeder shall be extended from this panel to the kitchen to separate the kitchen panels into two separate feeders to allow more ampacity. The remaining two electrical panels are located in the kitchen managers office. All three panels are to be replaced in the same location with new equipment and all existing to remain circuits are to be refed. The Work includes, but is not limited to selective demolition, concrete sidewalk, concrete, curb and gutter site work, firestopping, acoustical panel ceilings, and clean-up and removal of construction debris. Document Notes : Checks covering deposit shall be made payable to the order of the Owensboro Public Schools. All mailing charges (non-refundable), if required, are to be arranged in advance with and paid directly to Maco-Evansville Blue with a separate check. Deposits will be refunded to contractors who submit a bona fide proposal to the Owner (directly or through a prime contractor) and return the documents, in an acceptable and reusable condition within ten days of the opening of the bids. Bid Guaranty in the form of a Bid Bond (Proposal bonds with Contractor acting as surety are not acceptable), Certified Check, or cash shall accompany each bid. The amount of the bid Guaranty shall be not less than five percent (5%) of the Bid set forth in the Proposal Form. All bid Guaranties shall be made payable to Owensboro Public Schools. No bids may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days therefrom. The scoring of bids/proposals is subject to Reciprocal preference for Kentucky resident bidders and Preferences for a Qualified Bidder. Please refer to specification sections 00220 and 00450. The Owner reserves the right to determine the ability of any bidder to perform the work, and upon the request of the Owner, any bidder shall furnish such information as may be required to make this determination. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a performance and payment bond and a material and payment bond in an amount equal to at least One Hundred Percent (100%) of the Contract price. The premium for the bonds shall be included in the proposal amount(s). The Owner reserves the right to accept any bid, to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities in bids received where such acceptance, rejection or waiver is considered to be in the best interest of the Owner and to reject any bid where evidence of information submitted by the bidder does not satisfy the Owner that the Bidder is qualified to carry out the details of the Contract Documents.
