Reference Number 0000344133 The City of Mount Pleasant is requesting the submission of proposals to provide professional surveying, design engineering and landscaping design services for the development of the Mid-Michigan / GKB Pathway North Connection located between the existing GKB Trail at Broadway Street and Mission Creek Park within the City of Mount Pleasant and Charter Township of Union, Isabella County, MI The Mid-Michigan / GKB Pathway North Connection proposes an approximately 1.25 mile-long, 10-foot-wide bituminous non-motorized trail with 2-feet of gravel shoulder clear space along either edge. The trail will connect Mission Creek Park to the north and Nelson Park to the south. The conceptual design for the Mid-Michigan / GKB Pathway North Connection was completed in 2022. The trail will utilize public property in the form of road rights-of-way, requiring a limited number of easements on private property to allow construction as shown. Letters of easements commitments for all required locations have been secured by the City of Mount Pleasant. When complete, this trail will represent a segment in the Mid-Michigan Pathway, the master plan for which connects to the Pere Marquette Trail to the north and the Fred Meijer Trail to the south, providing the opportunity for regional non-motorized transportation and recreation.
