Renovation of an educational facility in Pleasanton, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The Project consists of: Demolition of the three walk in freezers and procurement and installation of two new walk in freezers. A bid bond by an admitted surety insurer on the form provided by the District a cashier s check or a certified check, drawn to the order of the Pleasanton Unified School District, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price, shall accompany the Bid Form and Proposal, The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond if it is awarded the Contract for the Work. To bid on this Project, the Bidder is required to possess one or more of the following State of California contractors license(s) B - General Building The Bidders license(s) must remain active and in good standing throughout the term of the Contract. Any bid submitted by a bidder who is not prequalified shall be non-responsive and returned by emailed to the bidder. Moreover, any bid listing subcontractors holding C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43 or C-46 licenses for the performance of electrical, mechanical or plumbing components who have not been prequalified shall be deemed nonresponsive. The successful bidder will be required to certify that it either meets the Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) goal of three percent (3%) participation or made a good faith effort to solicit DVBE participation in this Contract if it is awarded the Contract for the Work. Notice to Proceed April 08, 2024 Start Demolition and Construction June 3, 2024 Construction Complete August 2, 2024 Question Deadline 03/08/2024 Questions received less than SEVEN (7) calendar days prior to the date for opening bids may not be answered. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and/or waive any irregularity in any bid received. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project. Scope of work includes all labor, materials, tools, equipment, freight, taxes, etc. required to demolish the existing walk in units, demolish the existing ramp, install two new walk in units, a new ramp, etc. as shown in Scoping Notes, drawings and photos. 2. Patch and repair surfaces damaged by this scope of work. Demolition 1. Safeoff and disconnect all electrical to the current walk in units. 2. Evacuate refrigerant. 3. Demolish and dispose of existing walk in units and associated equipment including but not limited to compressors, condensers, etc. 4. Demolish existing concrete ramps. Construction 1. Provide and install two walk in units, "Freezer 1" and "Freezer 2" per the attached informational quotes and as shown on Architectural Plans. Quotes are intended to provide a list of features, sizes, functionality, etc. Substitutions are permitted in accordance with Division 0 and Division 1. Walk in units shall include all features identified in the attached quotes. Scope of work includes procurement and installation of new refrigerant piping, insulation, refrigeration equipment and charging the system with refrigerant. Install interior lighting. Contractor is responsible for making all final connections including but not limited to electrical and mechanical. 2. Provide seismic calculations stamped by an licensed California engineer. Seismically anchor walk ins to existing concrete slab using seismic engineering system provided by vendor of walk-in units. 3. Install new ramp access to both walk-in units. Ramp shall meet all ADA requirements for slope and a landing. Ramp shall be sufficiently sized to allow a pallet to be safely and efficiently moved into and out of each walk in unit. Ramp shall have sufficient bearing capacity to support the weight of a pallet and associated food. See drawing for additional information including handrail requirements. 4. Install galvanized sheet metal closure panels per the attached sketches. 5. Remove existing electrical disconnect and install a new disconnect. 6. Construct new equipment pads for all equipment associated with this work including but not limited to electrical equipment and refrigeration equipment as recommended or required by the manufacturer and or building code and or as required to maintain warranties. 7. Walk in units will be installed outdoors. Walk-in units shall be weather tight with a roof. Contractor shall ensure that the finished assembly is waterproof and that the roof slopes to drain. Install downspouts if required to divert water away from walk in units or other drainage as necessary. 8. Provide an install .080" diamond plate stainless steel floor over plywood over insulated panels. 9. Provide drainage away from new units as required to ensure standing water does not occur at slab for walk in units. 10. Sawcut and remove existing asphalt at location of new walk-in freezers. Compact existing subgrade. Construct a new six inch slab with #4 rebar at 18" on center. Slab shall have a 12" thickened edge. Coordinate concrete slab construction with the requirements of the walk-in unit. 11. Contractor is responsible for securing the site. Install temporary site fencing with a lockable gate prior to demolition. Notice to Proceed April 08, 2024 Start Demolition and Construction June 3, 2024 Construction Complete August 2, 2024
