The Village of Mark, Mark, Illinois, will receive sealed bids for the "Hennepin St. Water Main Replacement," consisting of approximately 458 LF of 6" PVC Water Main, together with all other necessary appurtenances and incidental construction. Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond payable to the Owner for five (5) percent of the total amount of the Bid. As soon as the Bid prices have been compared, the Owner will return the Bonds of all except the three lowest responsible Bidders. When the Agreement is executed the Bonds of the two remaining unsuccessful Bidders will be returned. The Bid Bond of the successful Bidder will be retained until the Payment Bond and Performance Bond have been executed and approved, after which it will be returned. A Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract Price, with a corporate surety approved by the Owner, will be required for the faithful performance of the Contract. The Village reserves the right to reject any or all Proposals, to waive technicalities in bidding, and to accept other than the low bid. No Proposal may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of Bids for 60 days. All work for the Water Main Replacement for the Project must be completed within 90 calendar days of the Notice to Proceed. Labor employed on this project shall be paid not less than the minimum prevailing rates of wages for the various classifications of workmen employed as determined by the State of Illinois Department of Labor for Putnam County.
