The City of Chilliwack (City) is seeking Expressions of Interest (EIs) from qualified Respondents to construct the "2024 ASPHALT REHABILITATION CONSTRUCTION WORKS" (the "Project"). The purpose of this Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEI) is to solicit submissions from Respondents, with expertise in road construction, in particular road paving, substructure, geotechnical and drainage work. The Work shall include, but not be limited to, the following: Generally conform to City of Chilliwack Subdivision and Land Development Bylaw 2014, No. 3055; To obtain and comply with all permit and regulative prerequisites required to carry out the outlined work scopes To effectively manage traffic during construction including prior permitting, planning and execution of traffic control during on-site works Undertake all necessary site investigations of surface and underground features in order to accurately identify all existing infrastructure and to notify of any conflicts or issues arising there from that are not addressed in the design documents Review of available record drawings to determine information gaps; All projects to be completed within City road allowance currently available; Include all sub-base, base, paving, concrete works, storm drainage, street lighting, signage, pavement markings, landscaping and access restoration as outlined in the design documents; Upgrades and/or relocation of sanitary, storm and water affected by road construction, as outlined by design documents; Disruption to adjacent properties and the public during construction will be minimized. All work to be carried out to ensure that existing traffic flows are not adversely affected; Landscape/driveway restoration required to provide as good or better condition; and Pavement markings to be thermoplastic, to City of Chilliwack specification. To coordinate with the CA and City representative in order to successfully carry out and complete the outlined work scopes including QA/QC and records To be able to reliably and readily source asphalt, concrete and soils To be able to remove existing and install new asphalt pavement in an approximate length of three (3) kilometers with some road base soils, subgrade soils and dispose of contaminated soils. To be able to remove and replace concrete curbs, gutters and sidewalks. To be able to install geotechnical reinforcement including but not limited to geomembranes, geotextiles, geotechnically sensitive fills. To be able to coordinate with City forces where required.
