It is the intent of this Invitation for Bid to have mowing, brush and waste removal services provided for properties located throughout the City. The City of Alton, Illinois will evaluate each quote on its own merit and will consider cost, quality, past performance, guarantee, warranty, and proposed schedule. The City of Alton invites quotations for the project as described herein, in accordance with the provisions, specifications and instructions set forth in this Invitation for Bid. Properties shall be mowed to a height no less than two (2) inches. Brush & trash are to be removed and hauled away. Terms of Contract :This contract shall remain in effect from April 1, 2024 thru March 31, 2025; and is renewable for one (1) year thereafter, upon mutual agreement by the City Council and said vendor. To be considered, a written request for renewal must be received by the Deputy Comptroller between December 1, 2024 and December 30, 2024. Please sign your bid form and return, in a sealed envelope, to: Lori Bockholdt, 101 East Third Street, Alton, IL 62002. Bid number must be placed on the face of the envelope. All quotations must be FOB destination and include cost of packing and cartage. Do not include taxes in your prices. The City of Alton is exempt from Federal Excise Tax, State Sales Tax and Transportation Taxes. Each written request must contain a self-addressed, stamped envelope and must reference the bid title and number. All responses must be made on the forms provided. All blank spaces must be filled in, in ink or typewritten, and the bid forms must be fully completed and executed (signed by authorized individual) when submitted. The City of Alton reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or any part thereof, on any basis and without disclosure of a reason. Failure to make such a disclosure shall not result in accrual of any right, claim or cause of action by any unsuccessful vendor against the City of Alton, Illinois. The City also reserves the right to waive any irregularities or minor defects or to accept any bid which in the judgment of the City may be most advantageous to the City. Although price is a major consideration, the award will not be made on price alone. The experience, references, equipment and time element of each bidder will be evaluated, as well as the Citys previous experience with the vendor, if any. All other aspects of the specifications and documents being equal, the City reserves the right to award to a vendor whose place of business is within the City of Alton provided that such vendors price is two (2%) percent or less above the low quotation.
