Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Westminster, Maryland. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
Instructions below are general information for Bonds. If Bonds are required, they will be referenced in the Specifications section of the bid document. Bid, Performance, Payment and Materialmen's Bonds A. Bid deposits shall be in the form of a Bid Bond or certified check made payable to the County, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Base Bid Sum. B. Nonperformance by a successful bidder or failure to execute the agreement or meet bond requirements within twenty (20) days after the award shall result in the bid deposit being forfeited to the County as liquidated damages. C. Bid deposits will be returned to unsuccessful bidders upon award of the contract(s), and to the successful bidder upon execution of the contract(s) and the meeting of bond requirements. D. Where the specifications or instructions require a Performance and Payment Bond requirement, the check or bond of the successful bidder will be returned upon satisfactory completion of the work or delivery and inspection of the goods and services purchased, and such other provisions of these instructions, or the specifications, which may apply. The successful bidder must submit a Performance Bond made to the Carroll County Commissioners in the amount of 100% of the total bid. Please contact Carroll County - Government (MD) directly with any inquiries about this bid. The Carroll County Department of Recreation and Parks requests the services of a qualified General/Grading Contractor to provide the expertise, work, labor, and materials for Work that includes the erosion control measures, construction of a dry well and storm water protocols, grading, the construction of a concrete block wall, an HMA trail, ADA accessible parking and crosswalk at Bear Branch Nature Center. Address is 300 John Owings Road, Westminster, MD. Questions must be submitted five (5) days prior to bid opening. 5.1 The successful bidder(s) must furnish certification of adequate liability insurance protection. This will include insurance coverage for employees working on County property. Proof of insurance will be submitted within seven (7) days of award of this bid. Insurance requirements can be found in the document, 'General Information for Bidders'. 5.2 The Contractor must maintain insurance coverage as required by the County while this agreement is in force, which will include automatic renewal terms. The Contractor will provide documentation of insurance satisfactory to the County's Risk Manager. All work will be completed within 2 calendar months. 5 Liquidated damages in the amount of $100 for each calendar day the project exceeds the projected schedule will be accessed and the Contractor's contract amount will be reduced.
