Site work for a water / sewer project in Cincinnati, Ohio. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Several issues exist with the current setup of CSO 24 and the associated regulator, underflow sewer and connection at the receiving interceptor sewer. The current underflow system for CSO 24 requires multiple visits per year to clear blockages. Since February of 2020, there have been at least 26 dry-weather sewage overflow events, with the majority of these determined to be caused by blockages. Three bends exist in the 18-inch underflow sewer between the diversion dam and the receiving interceptor sewer (Auxiliary Mill Creek Interceptor 3). These bends contribute to the blockages. Mill Creek Interceptor 1 and Auxiliary Mill Creek Interceptor 3 are in the immediate vicinity and CAGIS elevation shows there may be an opportunity to use either or both interceptors as a receiving sewer depending upon flow conditions in the respective interceptors. Additionally, this CSO and regulator structure is in the Ludlow Run area which is expected to be the subject of future overflow reduction targets. Questions Due Date: Mar 12th 2024, 1:30 PM EDT
