Construction of two roadways: Range Road 260 South; and Meadowview Drive. These roadways are planned for delivery in alignment with the St. Albert West Area Structure Plan, which includes: Realignment of Range Road 260 between Meadowview Drive and Township Road 540A such that it aligns directly with Range Road 260 north of Township Road 540A, including a new crossing of the CN Railway and closure of the existing crossing, and upgrade of the existing Township Road 540A Carrot Creek bridge crossing. This roadway is anticipated as a Connector Arterial (urbanized two-lane undivided roadway). Because this involves a new roadway alignment, concept planning is required to identify the recommended alignment prior to advancing through preliminary design. Upgrading Meadowview Drive, between Ray Gibbon Drive and the realigned Range Road 260/Meadowview Drive intersection, to a Crosstown Arterial (urbanized four-lane divided roadway), then transitioning to an urbanized two-lane undivided cross-section between the realigned Range Road 260 and Carrot Creek, including an upgrade of the existing Meadowview Drive Carrot Creek bridge crossing. As optional scope, preliminary design (60% design level) of Township Road 540A from Range Road 260 to Carrot Creek as a future Crosstown Arterial (urbanized four-lane divided roadway) is also requested. TIMELINE: Request for Proposals for engineering services has been awarded. The engineering consultant is to undertake conceptual planning and design up to 60% completion.
