Site work and paving for a road / highway in Mint Hill, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
2024 Streets Resurfacing. The lowest responsible, responsive bidder must provide Affidavit C, which includes a description of the portion of work to be executed by minority businesses, expressed as a percentage of the total contract price, which is equal to or more than the applicable goal. OR Provide Affidavit D, which includes a description of the portion of work to be executed by minority businesses, expressed as a percentage of the total contract price, with documentation of Good Faith Effort, if the percentage is not equal to the applicable goal. Provide Affidavit B, which includes sufficient information for the Town to determine that the bidder does not customarily subcontract work on this type project. The work shall be completed no later than Friday, November 22, 2024. The contractor is advised to begin work as soon as possible to avoid potential weather or other delays. The anticipated project budget is $1,000,000. The final budget will be determined by the Town after the low bid has been determined and unit prices/work areas analyzed. The contract value will be established by the Town to include all or some of the roads listed in this bid, at the Town's sole discretion. The Town intends to include as many streets as possible listed in this bid, depending upon unit bid prices. All bids must include a five percent (5%) bid deposit in the form of cash, certified check (from a bank or trust authorized to do business in North Carolina), or a bond from a surety company authorized to do business in North Carolina. The deposit or bond will be retained in the event of failure of the successful bidder to execute the contract and post satisfactory performance and labor and materials bonds within ten (10) business days after the award. Prior to issuance of a Notice to Proceed for this work, the contractor shall secure and post a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond, each for one hundred percent (100%) of the total contract amount. Question Deadline 03/22/2024 at 5:00 PM ET All questions must be sent to Steve Frey, PE via email at SFrey@admin.minthill.com and received by Friday March 22, 2024 at 5:00 pm. Contact with any other Town staff or official may disqualify a bid. Any addenda will be posted to the Town website and sent out to bidders who provide contact information no later than Monday, March 25, 2024. Contractor shall be liable for Liquidated Damages, paid to the Town of Mint Hill, if the work is not completed on or before the Contract Period end date, as amended. The Liquidated Damages rate is set at $500 per day, beginning on the first day after the completion date and accumulating thereafter. The contractor is advised to begin work as soon as possible to avoid potential weather or other delays. The Town reserves the right to deny time extension requests if, in the opinion of the Town, the contractor has not made reasonable good faith efforts to begin work and maintain progress.
