The existing modified bituminous roof shall be removed down to the deck and a new 2 ply modified roof system shall be installed. This work is for all the various roofs / levels on the building. All Bids must be accompanied by Bid security equal to five percent (5%) of the sum of the base Bid and all alternates and must be in the form of a certified check, cashier's check or Bid Bond written in conformance with state The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance, Maintenance and Payment Bond on a form provided by the Parish and written in accordance with state law. Bids shall be accepted from Contractors who are appropriately licensed under La. R.S. 37:2150-2164. The Parish of Caddo reserves the right to reject any and all Bids for just cause and to waive any informalities and technicalities. The Parish of Caddo shall incur no obligation to the Contractor until the Contract between the Owner and Contractor is fully executed. The Owner shall have the right to reject any or all Bids for just cause and to waive any informalities and technicalities. The Contractor shall furnish and pay for a Performance, Maintenance and Payment Bond written by a company licensed to do business in Louisiana, which shall be signed by the surety's agent or attorney-in-fact and countersigned by a person who is under contract with the surety as a licensed agent in this State and who is residing in this State in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract amount. The completion of the Contract must be within the time stated in the Contract Documents, subject to such extensions as may be granted under the Contract Documents, or the Contractor will be subject to pay to the Owner Liquidated Damages in the amount as stated in the Contract Documents. Any requirement that the Contractor be put in default prior to the assessment of liquidated damages shall be specifically waived by the Contractor.
