Renovation of a municipal facility in Mercer Island, Washington. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
Engineers Estimated Cost (range): $1,520,000 to $1,943,000 *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Work to be performed under this contract includes, but is not limited to furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials necessary for demolition or abandonment of four existing pressure reducing valve stations, construction of four new pressure reducing valve stations and associated appurtenances including 6-inch through 12-inch connections to existing water mains, a timber pedestrian staircase with handrails, domestic and irrigation water services, storm pipe with catch basin connections, rock wall, fire hydrant, concrete curb and gutter, concrete curb ramp, and asphalt and concrete roadway pavement restoration. Temporary erosion/water pollution control, temporary traffic control and devices, temporary water main bypasses including pressure control, temporary water services, property restoration and other miscellaneous items will also be necessary to complete the work. The City of Mercer Island, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, Nondiscrimination in Federally-assisted programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises as defined at 49 CFR Part 23 will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex in consideration for an award ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents are to be directed to George Fletcher, in writing by email at George.Fletcher@mercerisland.gov. The City will receive questions until 12:00 PM on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. Questions received after this date will not be answered. All questions and responses will be posted by Friday, March 15, 2024 to the Builders Exchange site. The City will delete bidder names from the text of question(s) and answers being sent. WAGES: This Contract is subject to Chapters 39.12 and 49.28 RCW, amendments thereto and regulations issued thereunder, relating to prevailing wages, benefits and other requirements. Bidders shall examine and be familiar with such requirements. No claim for additional compensation will be allowed which is based upon a lack of knowledge or a misunderstanding of any such requirements by the Bidder or a failure to include in Bidder's price adequate increases in such wages during the performance of this Contract. A copy of the most recent prevailing wage schedule is in the Appendix of the specifications. Current prevailing wage rates for King County can be obtained from the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries at website. PROGRESS AND COMPLETION: Time is of the essence for this Project. Progress and completion of the Work shall comply with all requirements herein, and intermediate and final completion dates as may be set forth in the specifications. The submission of a bid constitutes the Bidder's acknowledgement that such progress and completion requirements have been taken into account in formulating a price for this Work.
