As of April 18, 2024, this project has not yet been awarded. They plan to break ground within the next month. Proposals that were not recorded on the plan holders list shall be considered non-responsive. Prospective bidders are advised that their DBE plan for this project shall be submitted with their bid. After award, the low bidder shall be prepared to hold bid prices for anticipated start of construction expected as late as Spring of 2025, weather dependent. The execution of the construction Contract is dependent upon the receipt of an FAA grant offer and is expected no earlier than September 2024. This Contract does not allow for price escalation in unit bid items. The Contractor shall take this into consideration when preparing unit prices for bidding. Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total maximum proposal price (combination of base bid or alternate bid plus add-on items) for the contract in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the Preparation of Proposal. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting at the Lake Placid Airport terminal building has been scheduled for March 7th at 10:00am, local time, in order to review the specific requirements of this contract. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality in the proposal, and to reject any and all proposals This project will include an asphalt overlay of Runway 14-32 (60' wide). The overlay will consist of profile milling of existing pavement and placement of (2) lifts of 2-inch asphalt surface course. Cracks remaining after milling will be repaired. The Proposal will contain a Bid Alternate A and Bid Alternate B. Bid Alternate A paving extents will stop at the Runway 32 threshold bar (approx. 3055'). Bid Alternate B paving extent will be the entire Runway (approx. 4,196'). Within the limits of the project, also included will be pavement markings. No edge lighting or signage would be included as part of this project. It is anticipated that the airport will be closed for the duration of the construction phase. The work of this Contract is anticipated to commence in the Spring of 2025. No work shall occur at the airport between June 15 th and September 15th.
