PURPOSE OF REQUEST The City of Yelm ("City") is soliciting statements of qualifications and performance data from qualified professionals to produce complete plans, specifications, and estimates for the City of Yelm Longmire Park Upgrades project. The firm selected to perform this work will enter into a Professional Services Agreement (PSA) with the City. PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND BACKGROUND The Longmire Park Upgrades project is a capital improvement project that will feature synthetic turf for three softball fields, and a football/soccer field. A key element to this project will be addressing the drainage needs that the park will need to accommodate the turf. Some other aspects we would like to include are upgrades to the backstops of the soft ball fields, new or upgraded dugouts, new goal posts and a score board for the football field as well as lighting for all four fields of play. The goal is to make the Longmire Park fields available for play in any type of weather and a destination for local ball clubs. In 2019 Hatton Godat Pantier, Inc. designed drainage improvements for Field 2 and the north end of the football field. This project was constructed by Swofford Excavating LLC in mid-2020 and has worked quite well. Full plans, specifications, and as built for this work are attached.
