Demolition, site work, paving, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in Story City, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; water / sewer project; for the addition of a water / sewer project; for the demolition of a sidewalk / parking lot; for the renovation of a water / sewer project; road / highway; and road / highway.
The work for which bids are asked includes the following: Construction of a precast concrete Headworks Building expansion and new Main Building, a cast-in place concrete Aero-Mod plant, a Sludge Storage Building with cast-in-place concrete foundation and hoop building structure, site piping, earthwork, concrete driveways and sidewalks, demolition of existing facilities, sludge removal, and other miscellaneous site improvements at the WWTF site generally located at the east end of 1st Street, Story City, IA. Est. Value - $ 24,000,000.00 The work under the contract shall commence within ten (10) days after the date set forth in the written Notice to Proceed. All work under the contract shall be substantially complete 900 days after the Notice to Proceed is issued and final completion shall be achieved 960 days after the Notice to Proceed is issued. Each BIDDER shall accompany its bid with a bid security as security that the successful BIDDER will enter into a contract for the work bid upon and will furnish after the award of CONTRACT a corporate surety bond, acceptable to the OWNER, for the faithful performance of the CONTRACT, in an amount equal to 100 percent of the amount of the CONTRACT. The bid security shall be 5% of the bid amount and shall be in the form of a cashier's check, or certified check drawn on a state chartered or federally charted bank, or a certified share draft drawn on a state-chartered or federally chartered credit union, or a Bid Bond. The Bid Bond shall contain no exceptions. The successful BIDDER shall be required to furnish a performance BOND and a payment BOND, each in the amount of 100 percent of the CONTRACT PRICE, with a corporate surety approved by the OWNER, within ten (10) calendar days of the date when the NOTICE OF AWARD is delivered to the BIDDER. The NOTICE OF AWARD shall be accompanied by the necessary AGREEMENT and BOND forms. In case of failure of the BIDDER to execute the AGREEMENT, the OWNER may at his option consider the BIDDER in default, in which case the BID BOND shall become property of the OWNER. The work under the contract shall commence within ten (10) days after the date set forth in the written Notice to Proceed. All work under the contract shall be substantially complete 900 days after the Notice to Proceed is issued and final completion shall be achieved 960 days after the Notice to Proceed is issued. OWNER reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids. A. Work encompassed by this section includes one contract for the construction of wastewater treatment facility improvements, required as generally described below. The existing wastewater treatment facilities must remain in operation until the new facilities are completely operational. 1. Construction Sequencing is at the sole discretion of the CONTRACTOR; at no point in time during construction shall raw wastewater be discharged without treatment or approval from the OWNER and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (IDNR). B. The work under this contract includes, but is not limited to, all specifications sections, standard details, and appendices herein. C. The work under this contract includes, but is not limited to, the furnishing of all labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, permits, certificates, and temporary protection necessary for, or incidental to, the execution of removal of the following major existing items, as indicated on the contract drawings and specified herein: 1. Identified Underground Piping 2. Localized Fencing 3. Existing wastewater treatment facility structures, equipment, piping and all associated materials. Structure removal shall be in general compliance with plans and specifications. 4. Concrete driveways, curb, and sidewalks as identified. 5. Existing generator and buried diesel tank. 6. Other miscellaneous appurtenances as identified D. The work under this contract includes, but is not limited to, the furnishing of all labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, permits, certificates, and temporary protection necessary for, or incidental to, the execution of in-place abandonment of the following major existing structures, as indicated on the contract drawings and specified herein: 1. Identified Sewer Mains 2. Identified Manholes and Structures 3. Other miscellaneous appurtenances as identified Question Deadline 04/03/2024 All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to ENGINEER in writing. Questions received less than ten days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. Municipal Meeting 04/15/2024 at 6:00 PM CT Story City City Hall located at 504 Broad Street, Story City, IA 50248, the City Council of the CITY OF STORY CITY shall consider the construction bids received and will award a contract, reject all bids, or adjourn action thereon to a subsequent meeting of the City Council.
