Direct all inquiries concerning this IFB to: Sherri Garte Contract Specialist Email: sherri.garte@ncdps.gov The North Carolina Department of Public Safety (DPS), Division of Emergency Management (NCEM) is seeking bids from qualified, highly skilled Vendors to perform, or cause to be performed, installation of emergency backup generators in McDowell County. This includes design, engineering, delivery, connection and testing of the generator at critical facilities which are eligible for such units through the NCEM Hazard Mitigation program. McDowell County is requesting HMGP grant funding for the purchase and installation of two (2) 40Kw Generator with Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS). These generators would provide a redundant power supply for critical facilities within the community. These facilities are critical facility necessary for life saving and emergency services during disasters and emergencies. The terrain and geography of McDowell County leave communities in isolated condition which contribute to the need to redundancy across all lifelines. Specifically, redundant power would contribute greatly to the communications, command and control in the coordination effort during disasters. Vendors will enter "IFB # 19-IFB-1027975937-GSX - Questions" as the subject of the message. Question submittals should include a reference to the applicable IFB section. This is the only manner in which questions will be received. The State reserves the right to negotiate with one or more Vendors, or to reject all original offers and negotiate with one or more sources of supply that may be capable of satisfying the requirement, and in either case to require Vendor to submit a Best and Final Offer (BAFO) based on discussions and negotiations with the State. The Contract shall have a term of 18 months, beginning on the date of the contract award (the "Effective Date"). In addition, with the Vendor's concurrence, the State reserves the right to extend the Contract after the last active term.
