The purpose of this Bid is to provide Crushed Stone and Stone Products for use by Essex County and its political subdivisions. All materials shall conform with the Standard Specification for Construction and Materials of the New York State Department of Transportation; January 1, 2024 and all addenda thereto; unless the same are modified by the County Superintendent of Public Works or their authorized representative (ECDPW). Crushed Stone and Stone Products shall be purchased either FOB Plant or Delivered. Essex County reserves the right to award each bid item to multiple vendors to accommodate project variables, including, but not limited to: project location, costs of hauling, and the various County Departments and political subdivisions participating in the contract. Unless otherwise stated in the bid specifications, award shall be based on the lowest responsive per unit cost, availability, location of project and scheduling constraints of a project. Bid item(s) shall be ordered beginning with the lowest responsible bidder and considering the next lowest responsible bidder as needed. From April 1, 2024, thru and including March 31, 2025, with the option to renew annually, for up to an additional two (2) years by mutual agreement. Essex County reserves the right to reject any and all bids not considered to be in the best interest of Essex County, and to waive any technical or formal defect in the bids which is considered by Essex County to be merely irregular, immaterial, or unsubstantial.
