Site work for a water / sewer project in West Allis, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
**As of April 2, 2024, the project was awarded to VJS Construction Services, but the awarded amount is not available.** The Work generally consists of the following: 1. Excavation of soil in three separate areas of the Site: (A) the trichloroethene (TCE)-impacted area; (B) the lead-impacted area; and (C) the polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB)-impacted area. The excavation work is being conducted prior to the construction of the new West Allis Public Works Facility. The residuals will be loaded directly for off-site disposal at a licensed solid waste landfill. 2. Loading and hauling of excavated soil impacted with TCE, lead and PCBs. Contractor shall assume that the soil will be hauled to Waste Management's Orchard Ridge Landfill located at W124 N9355 Boundary Road, Menomonee Falls, WI 53051. Engineer's estimate of impacted soil for hauling and disposal is 6,800 tons. 3. Loading and hauling of stockpiled soil impacted with PAHs, low levels of metals and low levels of VOCs. Contractor shall assume that the soil will be hauled to Waste Management's Orchard Ridge Landfill located at W124 N9355 Boundary Road, Menomonee Falls, WI 53051. Engineer's estimate of impacted soil for hauling and disposal in a landfill is 30,200 tons. 4. Removal and closure of two underground storage tanks (USTs), one 700-gallon UST and one 2,200-gallon UST in accordance with API RP 1604 and Wisconsin Administrative Code ATCP 93.560. Up to 200 CY of petroleum impacted soil may be excavated and disposed of at a licensed solid waste landfill, if encountered. 5. Backfill and compact UST excavations, as directed by Engineer. 6. Dewatering of excavations, as needed. Water generated from dewatering operations shall be containerized, filtered and discharged into the Milwaukee Metrop Hauling of stockpiled impacted soils; hauling of inorganic materials; excavation, stockpiling, and hauling of impacted soils from specific site locations; and the excavation, removal, disposal, and filling of excavated areas of 2 underground storage tanks and related work All questions about the meaning or intent of the contract documents are to be directed to the City Engineer no later than 03/01/2024
