Site work and paving for a road / highway in Howard, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
The proposed project consists of final costs for design, wetland mitigation, right-of-way acquisition, and construction for the associated 2025 finalization and widening of CTH M from CTH HS to W. Deerfield Avenue. Traffic congestion is typical as motorists’ frequent businesses along this segment of CTH M or go to and from the elementary, intermediate and high schools located on the west end of the corridor. A capacity analysis was completed on CTH M in June of 2017. The results of the analysis showed that existing and projected traffic volumes warrant an expansion to a four-lane facility. The existing two-lane rural roadway will be expanded to a four-lane urban section with two-lanes of traffic in each direction, a raised median, and a trail on the north side of the roadway. As of March 20, 2025, this project is beginning construction later this week. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
