Renovation of a parking garage in Covington, Kentucky. Completed plans call for the renovation of a parking garage.

The signee hereby certifies that they have read and understand the contents of this solicitation and agree to furnish at the prices shown any or all of the items listed, subject to all instructions, conditions, specifications and attachments hereto. The bidder/offeror affirms to the Kenton County Fiscal Court the ability to meet all requirements and further affirms that the work will be done in compliance with all Federal, State and Local codes, ordinances, and regulations. The Kenton County Fiscal Court, herein referred to as "County" is requesting bids for Elevator Modernization of Elevator 3, that is located at the Kenton County Parking Garage located 220 Madison Avenue, Covington Kentucky 41011. **The Kenton County Fiscal Court has a contract currently with Fujitec America, Inc for the service of the elevators. Fujitec assisted with the specifications for this Request for Bid. All questions regarding this bid shall be directed in writing to the Purchasing Manager, Holly Hill by email: holly.hill@kentoncounty.org. All questions will be answered and posted on the kentoncounty.org website, under Government, Procurement (bids/proposals) and then View Bid. The following are the requirements but not limited to the work that is required to modernize elevator 3 at the Kenton County Parking Garage. HOISTWAY 1 Clear hoistway plumb from top to bottom with variations not to exceed 1" at any point in the first 100 ft. Tolerance may increase at 1/32" for each additional 10 ft. up to a maximum displacement of 2". 2 Glass hoistway enclosure and observation elevators shall be constructed of laminated glass conforming to the requirements of ANSI Z97.1. (Observation application only). Hoistway bracket supports, tube steel, glass, or glass fascia will be by others. 3 Minimum two hours of fire resistance rating of the hoistway enclosure. (ANSI A17.1 Rule 100.1) 4 75 degree bevel guards when projections, recesses, and setbacks in hoistway project more than 2" inside the general line of the hoistway on sides not used for loading and unloading. *ANSI A17.1 Rule 100.6) 5 Venting of the hoistway. (ANSI A17.1 100.4) 6 Provide Divider Beams between adjacent elevators at each floor, pit, and overhead. 7 Adequate supports of guide rail brackets at each floor, roof and/or intermediate locations; this would include any rail backing or tube steel required to support the rails. (ANSI A17.1 Rule 200.9) 8 Install guide rail bracket supports in concrete as required. Concrete inserts or embeds, if used, will be provided by elevator contractor and installed by General Contractor. Verify location on elevator contractor's shop drawing. 9 Supports to carry all structural reaction, impact and uplift loads imposed by the elevator equipment. 10 Supports for vertical wireways. 11 Blockout / cutouts through wall and the grouting / patching required to maintain fire wall rating as required to accommodate hall boxes for push button stations, hall lanterns, and position indicators. 12 Cut and patch walls and floors if necessary. 13 Lockable, self - closing, fire - rated pit doors (where applicable). 14 Hoistway partition screens between elevators. 15 Dry pit reinforced to sustain normal vertical forces from rails to buffers. 16 Waterproofing for elevator pits and if necessary provide sump pump with piping and wiring or indirect waste drain. 17 Supports for car buffer, counter - weight buffer, rail load, and pit ladders. 18 Vertical iron ladder for each elevator extending 42" above sill of access door where access to the pit is by means of the lowest hoistway entrance. 19 Convenience outlet and light fixture in pit with the switch located adjacent to the access 20 Not more than 5" clearance between the edge of the car sill and the hoistway enclosure through the section of hoistway where there are no entrances. (ANSI A17.1 Rule 108.le). 21 Shaftwall: For shaftwall construction, erect front hoistway wall after elevator entrance frames have been installed. 22 All barricades for open hoistways and entrances during construction as required by OSHA. 23 Protection of each hoistway entrance door and door frame from damage after installation while construction work is in progress.
