Renovation of an educational facility in Coldwater, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Project Identification: 1. Project Location: 370 Morse Ave., Coldwater, MI 49036 The purpose of the project is to renovate the Branch Intermediate School District Adminstartion building windows. A. Construction Contract: Bids will be received for the following Work: 1. General Contract (all trades). Clearly label outside of the envelope containing bid "SEALED BID" for Branch Intermediate School District. 6. Bids received after the stipulated date and time will not be considered and will be returned unopened. 7. No faxed or e-mailed bids will be accepted. 8. Wages for this project, ARE NOT, subject to the federal prevailing wages. B. As required by State Law (P.A. 232 of 2004), all bids shall be accompanied by a sworn and notarized statement disclosing any familial relationship that exists between Branch Intermediate School District or any employee of the bidder and any member of the school board or the superintendent of the school district. Bids that do not include this sworn and notarized disclosure statement will not be accepted. Persuant to Michigan law (P.A. 517 of 2012), before accepting any bid or proposal, or entering into any contract for goods or services with any prospective vendor, the vendor must first certify that is not an "Iran Linked Business" as defined by law. D. Bids will be read aloud at a public bid opening on March 26, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Branch Intermediate School District Administration Building, 370 Morse, Ave., Coldwater, MI 49036E. No bidder may withdraw their bid for a period of 30 days after the date set for the opening thereof, and all bids shall be subject to acceptance by the owner during this period. F. The Branch Intermediate School District reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, alternates, or proposals. Bidders will be required to provide bid security in the form of a surety bond, certified check, or cashier's check in the amount of five (5) percent of the bid amount conditioned to secure thedistrict from loss or damage by reason of the withdrawal of the bid or by the failure of the bidder to enter a contract for performance, if the bid is accepted by the intermediate school board. As required by law, performance, labor, and materials bonds will be required if the construction contract exceeds $50,000. The cost of these bonds must be included within the contractor's base bid price Builder's Risk Insurance: The Owner will purchase and maintain property insurance for 100% of actual cash replacement value of the insurable work while in the course of construction, including foundations, additions, attachments, and all fixtures, machinery and equipment belonging to and constituting a permanent part of the building structures. The property insurance also will cover temporary structures, materials and supplies to be used in completing the work, only while on the building site premises or within five hundred feet of the site. The property insurance insures the interests of the Owner, Contractor, and all Subcontractors and Suppliers at any tier as their interest may appear. C. Insurance Requirements: The Contractor is required to provide the type and amount of insurance below. 1. Bidders are required to include assurance from contractors and subcontractors in writing that the Branch Intermediate School District will be held harmless in case of any accident due to any negligence on the part of the contractor and subcontractors. The waiver of subrogation clause in the AIA contract or any other contract must be removed. The successful contractor must secure necessary permits and provide license number, certificate of liability and workers compensation insurance. 2. The successful contractor shall maintain the following insurance for the duration of this project in the amounts identified or as required by law, whichever is greater: a. Comprehensive General Liability with policy limits of not less than One Million Dollars for each occurrence and Two Million Dollars the aggregate for bodily injury and property damage. b. Automobile Liability covering owned and rented vehicles operated by the contractor with policy limits of not less than One Million Dollars combined single limit and aggregate for bodily injury and property damage. c. Workers' Compensation at statutory limits and Employers Liability with a policylimit of not less than One Million Dollars. d. Professional Liability covering the contractor's negligent acts, errors and omissionsin its performance of services with policy limits of not less than Two Million Dollars per claim and in the aggregate. e. The Contractor shall provide to the Owner certificates of insurance evidencing compliance with these requirements. The certificates will show the Owner as an additional insured on the policy and coverages will not be terminated, non-renewed, or reduced without at least 30 days prior written notice to the Owner. D. The Branch Intermediate School District is a smoke-free zone, therefore, no smoking is allowed in buildings or on the grounds.
