This project will include the removal and replacement of approximately 570 stations of pavement markings, 18 stations of pavement marking removals, 147 pavement symbols, and 1,010 painted bike sharrow symbols on Vista Drive, 76th Street, Cody Drive, 84th Street, Century Drive, Abram Drive, S 91st Street, S 83rd Street, Coachlight Drive, Stagecoach Drive, Westown Parkway, 22nd Street, Grand Avenue, E.P. True Parkway, Valley West Drive, 19th Street, Railroad Avenue, Mills Civic Parkway, S 51st Street, Fieldstone Drive, and Fuller Road. All bids shall be made on the form furnished by the City through wdm.ionwave.net and shall be filed on or before the time specified above. Each proposal shall be electronically accompanied by a scanned copy of the bid bond or a scanned copy of a cashier's or certified check drawn on an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. If a bid bond is submitted it must be on the form provided with the contract documents. A physical copy of the bid security will be required to be submitted to the City Clerk's Office by the apparent low bidder within 48 hours of the bid deadline. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price guaranteeing faithful performance of the contract and guaranteeing payment to all persons supplying labor and/or materials in the execution of the work provided for in the contract. Additionally the contractor must provide the City with a guarantee of maintenance of said improvement in the form of surety for a period of four (4) years from the time of acceptance by the City. Work on said project shall commence within ten (10) days of the written notice to proceed and shall be completed by October 25, 2024. Liquidated damages in the amount of two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) per day will be assessed for each day that the work remains uncompleted after the end of the contract period.
