Renovation of a water / sewer project in Kansas City, Missouri. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

The City agrees to engage the work of the Contractor and the Contractor agrees to provide the services and assume the responsibilities hereinafter set forth in Exhibit A 1 Purpose: The City has a requirement for the removal and rebuild or replacement, or combination of both and the reinstallation of a pump at the Cliff Drive Intake Station, Lake Pump #3, in accordance with the following general requirements. 2 General Requirements: Equipment Description / Existing Equipment Information 2.1. Existing Pump Information: Pump Dresser Worthington Model 12M75-3 S/N 92TVU-100793-2 GPM 970 Driver 50HP TDH/FT 148 RPM 1770 2.2. Seal Replacement: Model John Crane HSF-1029236-1 Size One Inch Shaft 3. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 3.1. The pump requires removal and evaluation for repairs or replacement. Removal must be accomplished by lifting the pump through the roof of the Cliff Drive Intake Station separately with a crane. City personnel will operate and use the city crane along with the contractor's assistance for removal and reinstallation of the pump and motor. 3.2. Pump Rebuild/Repair 3.2.1. If pump is to be rebuilt/repaired, the following is an outline of the work to be performed and should not be considered all-inclusive but used only as a guide. Note any equipment replaced must be comparable to existing equipment, performance, and physical specifications should be furnished for evaluation. 3.2.2. Finish Disassembly of the pump. 3.2.3. Bead blast all reusable components 3.2.4. Inspect per manufacturer's prints. Report any items that need attention that are not covered under this scope of work. 3.2.5. Clean, polish and straighten all line shafting. 3.2.6. Skim cut each shaft end to assure perpendicularity to centerline. 3.2.7. Flip shaft sections end for end and reuse if feasible. 3.2.8. Machine true impeller eye ring areas for a wear ring. 3.2.9. Two-plane dynamic balance impellers to manufacturer's standards. 3.2.10. The following components shall be replaced upon reassembly: A. Impeller wear rings B. Bowl wear rings C. All bowl bearings D. Tube adapter E. Line shaft couplings F. Pump shafts G. All enclosing tube bearings H. All enclosing tubes I. Tension bearing J. Sand collar K. Impeller collets L. Gaskets M. Packing N. Miscellaneous hardware O. All stainless column and bowl hardware to be reused where possible P. Coat outside of the bowl assembly and ID and OD of the column pipe and the OD of the enclosing tubes with two-part epoxy suitable for potable water. Q. Assemble bowl assembly R. Coat the motor pedestal with manufacturers enamel S. Replace existing single cartridge mechanical seal/stuffing box 3.2.11. For bidding purposes, all repair pricing will be quoted as worst-case scenario. The contractor shall provide the City, and updated repair price after evaluation, not to exceed the bid price. 3.3. Pump Replacement 3.3.1 Replacement pumps shall meet at a minimum the specifications outlined in Item 2.1 or approved equal. 3.4. Pump and Motor Assembly and Installation 3.4.1. Deliver to customer location. 3.4.2. Install and properly align motor-shaft-and coupling assembly. 3.4.3. Install mechanical seal and attach all necessary seal water lines as required. 3.4.4. Make all necessary adjustments to all moving parts for proper pump operation. 3.4.5. Connect all necessary power and control wiring. 3.4.6. Test pump operation.
