The project involves the construction of a skatepark in the City of Wausau. The park bid package includes bidding the features, flatwork and refurbishing of existing equipment. A bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total bid shall be submitted with each bid, as a guarantee that the bidder, if the bid is accepted, will execute and file the proposed contract and bonds within ten days after the awarding of the contract. Prospective bidders must submit the pre-qualification documents to the Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department no later than 2:00 p.m. on July 8, 2024 for consideration by the Board of Public Works on July 9, 2024, and show sufficient financial ability, equipment, and experience building skate parks to properly perform the contract in accordance with Section 66.0901, Wisconsin Statutes. The decision of the Board of Public Works as to qualifications shall be final. The pre-qualification form is available on-line The City of Wausau reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities in bidding, and to award a contract in the best interest of the City of Wausau. A Performance Bond and also a Labor and Materials Payment Bond in the amount of 100% of the total bid price, together with an executed contract in form prescribed by the City of Wausau will be required of the successful bidder. The letting of the work described herein is subject to provisions of Chapter 62 and 66 of Wisconsin Statutes and by all pertinent sections of the Wausau Municipal Code.
