The objective of this RFP is to provide Design, Supply, Installation and Engineering Services required for replacing an existing generator set #3 (Genset #3 or G4) with a new QEC supplied diesel power generator set at the Baker Lake power plant. Based on the estimation of Genset Supply Contractor, the Genset estimated delivery will be scheduled arrival of September 2025 in Baker Lake. Delivery based on equipment being ready to ship for the second sailing to Baker Lake, as well weather/ice conditions in 2025. The genset replacement will require to replace the existing G4 CAT 3508B with a new QEC supplied diesel genset, Caterpillar 3516 C with a capacity of 1,100 eKW (See Owner Supplied Materials). The existing Genset #4’s cooling, fuel, heat recovery, compressed air start systems and associated equipment, piping and valves, as well as electrical main protection relay, power cables, control cables/wires, the control circuits and other devices need to be replaced and upgraded to accommodate the new genset. A new heat recovery of engine jacket water will need to be incorporated into the plant heating system. In addition, various supports and structures also require modification and/or re-fabrication to accommodate the new genset, piping and its auxiliary equipment. The overview of scope of work in this project consists of the following work for a for a new Owner supplied genset with a capacity of 1,100 kW at 4160 V in the Baker Lake power plant: 1. design of installation of Genset #4, CAT 3516C 2. construction material supply, 3. demolition of the existing Genset #4, 4. field installation, testing and commissioning of new Genset #4 5. start up and operator training.
