Renovation of an educational facility in Austin, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Specifications: Roof Replacement Jackson Geological Sciences Building (JGB) The scope of work requested is to replace the existing low slope roof systems at (JGB) JACKSON GEOLOGICAL SCIENCE BUILDING with a 20-year warranted multi-ply modified bitumen roof system, fully adhered to a coverboard with insulation and vapor barrier adhered to concrete deck areas. The scope of work also includes removal of the clay tile roof area for the installation of new insulation and waterproofing membrane. MEP modifications and access/site modifications are required as a part of work scope. The work also includes the replacement of mechanical equipment, waterproofing and capping parapet walls, installation of new roof access, installation of new safety railing and cleaning of the exterior cladding. Budget The budget range for the project is approximately $3,000,000.00 to $3,800,000.00. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Objective The objective of the University for this project is to complete the project on time and within the project budget in a safe and workmanlike manner with a minimum of disruption to the existing building occupants. Coordination and cooperation among contractors and subcontractors will be a key to success. Work will also be occurring at the same time as other work by the University by other contracts or its own shop forces. Awarded Contractor shall be responsible for the coordination of work under this contract with work by Owner and other Contractors. Representatives of the Owner and the Professional Service Provider will be present to discuss proposal procedures and requirements, construction documents including specifications and drawings, project special conditions, and HUB good-faith requirements applicable to this project. A site visit will be held immediately afterwards. Respondents will have an opportunity to ask questions regarding this RFP during the Conference, and are asked to follow those questions up in writing by email to the University Contacts listed above. TO PARK; use the San Jacinto Garage (SJG) or On-Site Parking garage - all parking costs are at the participants' expense. No other site access will occur prior to the proposal submittal deadline. Dates of Commencement: May 10, 2024. Work Period All work for this project must begin on or about June 3, 2024 and must be completed by the end of the day on January 10, 2025. Addendum issued (approx.) 4/1/2024 Successful Respondent notified 5/1/2024 APPROX. DATE Notice to Proceed 5/28/2024 APPROX. DATE Substantial Completion APPROX. DATE The facility will only be available during the scheduled construction time period from 8:00 A. M. to 5:00 P. M. (CST), Monday through Friday except official University holidays. Should the awarded Contractor wish to work during other times, including weekends or nights, Contractor must notify the Construction Inspector in writing, a minimum of twenty-four hours in advance so that the University Police Department may be notified. PERFORMANCE AND PAYMENT BONDS A Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price will be required (if the contract amount exceeds $100,000.00). A Payment Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price will be required (if the contract amount exceeds $25,000.00). Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) pursuant to Tex. Gov't Code, Chapter 2161, means a business that is at least 51% owned by an Asian Pacific American, a Black American, a Hispanic American, a Native American and/or an American Woman; is an entity with its principal place of business in Texas; and has an owner residing in Texas with proportionate interest that actively participates in the control, operations, and management of the entity's affairs.
