This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Midland, Ontario. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.

Treated water in the Town is distributed into four (4) main pressure zones: East, West, Sunnyside and Lescaut. The East pressure zone is the largest and has the lowest hydraulic grade line. Water is pumped to the West, Sunnyside, and Lescaut pressure zones using booster pumping stations. The Towns water supply is currently provided from a groundwater aquifer through four points of entry well sites that include the Highway 12 Treatment System, Hanly Treatment System, Penetanguishene Treatment System, and Vindin (Flume) Well Field. The system consists of ten production wells, nine of which are currently active. The East pressure zone has three storage facilities that include the Dominion standpipe, Everton tank and the Hanly tank. The Sunnyside and Lescaut pressure zones are direct pressure zones without floating storage therefore the storage requirement for these zones needs to be accounted for in the East Zone storage requirement calculations. The Towns Water Master Plan update in August of 2021, assessed the existing system and concluded that the East Pressure Zone does not have sufficient storage capacity as well as low pressure in the area south of Little Lake on Highway 12 between King Street and County Road 93. A new tank and pump are proposed in the area of the existing wells 7A/7b located on the south side of Highway 12, west of Beamish Road. These projects are identified as projects 1A and 4A in the master plan. TIMELINE: A Request For Proposals from Engineering Consultants has been issued by the owner. The Water Master Plan Completed for Phases 1 and 2 of the EA process for the above projects. Considering that projects 1A and 4A are identified as Schedule B (or a Schedule C project if land is to be acquired), the Town of Midland is looking to retain a consultant to complete the requirements of Phase 3 and Phase 4 of the Class EA process for these projects as identified in the master plan. The final steps will include: Phase 3 of the EA Process - The Consultant is to provide the Town with alternative design concepts for a preferred solution to the Towns storage capacity (Project 1A) and low-pressure issue in the East Pressure Zone (Project 4A). Phase 4 of the EA Process - Environmental Studies required for the proposed East Pressure Zone booster pump and tower in a location that matches the East Pressure Zone hydraulic grade the consultant recommends to the Town. Question Deadline: Wed Mar 20, 2024 4:30:00 PM (EDT) Duration in months: 6 The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
