Site work and new construction of a transportation facility in Gladys, Virginia. Design plans call for the construction of a transportation facility; and for site work for a transportation facility.
As of October 22, 2025, this project was not awarded and has been placed on hold. It is unclear if it will rebid at a future date. The Brookneal- Campbell County Airport Authority is constructing the first hangar facility on the property in a location that has already been approved by the Department of Virginia Aviation and Federal Aviation Administration. Question Deadline 04/03/2024 All questions about the meaning or intent ofthe Contract Documents shall be submitted to the Purchasing Agent in writing. Bidder should contact the following, in writing, no later than five (5) working days before the due date. Questions concerning the Specifications may be referred, in writing, to: Nina Rezai Director, Economic Development nrrezia@co.campbell.va.us Questions regarding the IFB document may be referred, in writing, to: ClifTweedy Deputy County Administrator cmtweedy@co.camp All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents shall be submitted to the Purchasing Agent in writing. Replies will be issued by addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by the Contract Agent or his designee as having received the bidding documents. Questions received less than (5) days prior to the date for opening of bids will not be answered. Only questions answered by formal written addenda will be binding. Oral or other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect. The amount and type of bid security is stated in the invitation to bid. The required security must be in the form of a certified or bank cashier's check made payable to the Owner or a bid bond issued by a surety licensed to conduct business in the state where the project is located and named in the current list of "Surety Companies Acceptable on Federal Bonds" as published in the Federal Register by the Audit Staff Bureau of Accounts, U.S. Treasury Department. The bid security of the successful bidder will be retained until he/she has executed the agreement and furnished the required contract security, whereupon it will be returned; if he/she fails to execute and deliver the Agreement and furnish the required Contract Security within ten (10) days of the Notice of Award, the Owner may annul the Notice of Award and the Bid Security of that bidder will be forfeited. The Bid Security of any bidder whom the Owner believes to have a chance of receiving the award may be retained by Owner until the seventh day after the executed agreement is delivered by Owner to Contractor. Bid Security of other bidders will be returned within seven days of Owner's acceptance of winning bid. : Only Bidders with a Class "A" or Class "B" Contractors License shall be considered qualified to bid on this project. If any prospective Bidder has questions regarding any the specifications or solicitation documents, the prospective Bidder should contact the following, in writing, no later than five (5) working days before the due date. Any revisions to the solicitation will be made only by addendum issued by Central Purchasing. Only changes made by formal addenda are legally binding. All work shall be completed within Two hundred seventy (270) days from the date designated in the Notice to Proceed. a. The Owner shall award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder complying with all provisions of the IFB provided the bid price is within funding available for the project. b. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, in whole or in part, to waive any and all informalities, whenever such rejection or waiver is in the best interest of the Owner.
