General Description: The scope of work generally includes constructing curb ramps at various locations within the Zone 3N area of the City of Concord. Work shall include traffic control, pedestrian detours, staging of the work, temporary water pollution control, clearing and grubbing, protection of existing water valves, adjustments to existing irrigation; removal of existing curb, gutter, sidewalk, valley gutter, asphalt concrete; installation of new concrete, curb, gutter, ramps, sidewalks, hot mix asphalt plugs, pavement marking installation, installation or relocation of signs; replacement of sidewalk monument and such other items or details that are required by the Plans, Standard Specifications, the Special Provisions and as directed by the Engineer. The Engineer's estimated construction cost is approximately $300,000 for the base bid. The Contractor shall possess at least one of the following valid Contractor's licenses at the time the bids are opened: Class "A": General Engineering Contractor, or; Class "C-8": Concrete Contractor. There is no pre-bid meeting for this work; however, contractors are strongly encouraged to visit all sites in advance of the bid to familiarize themselves with the nature of the existing conditions. THE BIDDER'S GUARANTEE SHALL BE IN AN AMOUNT EQUAL TO AT LEAST TEN PERCENT (10%) OF THE AMOUNT BID AND MADE PAYABLE TO THE CITY OF CONCORD.
