As of April 5, 2024, the owner selected Tappe Architects as Design Builder. The Town of Winchester ("the Town") is interested in retaining the services of an Architectural/ Engineering Firm (prospective consultant) to prepare plans and specifications for public bidding of the renovations to the Winchester High School Gymnasium. (Please see full description of the scope in Section 3.0, "Scope of Work"). The Town reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, or parts thereof, deemed not to be in the best interest of the Town. Consideration will be equally extended to all types of firms and, or individual consultants who may be qualified to perform all phases of the work. The prospective consultant, once selected, will enter into a lump sum contract with the Town. The fee will be based upon a scope of work and manpower estimate required to complete the necessary work. Consequently, it is necessary to include an estimate of manpower requirements as described in the proposal. Manpower requirements should be broken down to reflect time estimated for each phase of the project. The name of the prospective consultant and the title of the project must appear on the front cover of each proposal. The existing rubberized resilient flooring (installed 2005) to be replaced with maple athletic flooring (grade 2 or better) on sleepers with equipment replacement including, but not limited to: motorized bleachers, basketball hoops/backboards, ceiling-hung powered divider curtains, scoreboards and padded wall protection. Successful A/E team will identify impacted mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems and any associated alterations, as well as any ADA/accessibility construction required to address changes in floor level where new surfaces meet existing. Communications/Data scope shall include power, ethernet and/or wireless connectivity for existing high school systems as well as new Hudl (or similar) athletics cameras. Preliminary cost estimates will be updated for the entire scope of work at this phase of the design. The prospective consultant will provide, on a weekly basis, or as may be required by the Project Coordinator, on-site inspection of work undertaken during the entire construction period.
