NEW JERSEY PREVAILING WAGE ACT AND PUBLIC WORKS CONTRACTOR REGISTRATION ACT Bidders shall comply and adhere to all requirements of the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act and Public works Contractor Registration. The City of Trenton may terminate the work of workers who are paid less than the prevailing wage. SCOPE OF WORK The work to be performed under this contract will consist of the repair of property structures under the jurisdiction or responsibility of the City of Trenton. All work performed will be as directed by the City of Trenton designee and will be accomplished at the site of the property or the contractor's shop depending upon the specific conditions of the work. The work may consist of, but is not limited to concrete masonry work, carpentry, building structural repair, plumbing and associated pipe work, electrical repair, ironwork, fencing, welding, painting, site remediation due to water, smoke or fire damage, clean-up, general labor, boarding and securing, minor demolition, and related work that may be required to complete these repairs. The intent of this contract is to repair and stabilize properties in the City of Trenton to the original designed and/or constructed condition, or to reinforce, rehabilitate or upgrade said property/structures as directed by the City of Trenton designee. Some work under this contract may be of an emergent nature; therefore, the contractor must have available on short notice, the labor, tools, materials, and equipment necessary to perform the work in a minimum amount of time. The ability to begin work on a job site with twenty-four (24) hours' notice is a pertinent part of this contract. The contractor shall provide all necessary materials and handling equipment to perform quality work in a safe manner. WORK SCHEDULE Work for assigned properties shall be performed during regular hours. Regular hours are defined as 6:00 am through 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Emergencies may occur outside of regular hours creating overtime. Overtime hours are defined as time worked weekends, holidays, and weekdays between the hours of 5:01 pm through 5:59 am. Overtime shall be paid at 1.3 times the regular hourly rate. The city does not guarantee any minimum number of hours and will only pay for the actual number of hours authorized and worked. Invoices shall include all associated costs. No additional compensation will be made. CONTRACT AWARD AND TERM Contracts may be awarded to multiple contractors per the discipline listed in the proposal. Contracts shall be awarded for a period of two (2) years with an option to extend the contract for two (2) additional years based upon available funding.
