Work includes FUL-CR 850-0.00 Oak Street and the required necessary roadway improvements. Each bid must be accompanied by either a bid bond in an amount of 10% of the bid amount with a surety satisfactory to the City or by certified check, cashier's check, or letter or credit upon a solvent bank in the amount of not less than 10% of the bid amount in favor of the City of Wauseon, Ohio. Bid bonds shall be accompanied by Proof of Authority of the official or agent signing the bond. A Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond properly executed can be submitted in lieu of a bid bond or check. Attention of bidders is called to all of the requirements contained in this bid packet, particularly to the Federal Labor Provisions and Davis-Bacon Wages, various insurance requirements, various equal opportunity provisions; and the requirements for a performance bond or a bid guaranty and contract bond for 100% of the contract price. This project is classified as a Local Public Agency (LPA) project with the City of Wauseon, Ohio administering the project and the Ohio Department of Transportation providing project oversight. Only ODOT pre-qualified contractors are eligible to submit bids for this project. At least seven percent (7%) of this contract as bid shall be subcontracted to Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) who have been certified as DBEs by the Ohio Department of Transportation. Prior to bid opening, all Local-Let Bidders (prime contractors) are required to submit the LPA DBE Utilization Form which details their DBE Utilization Plan (Utilization Plan). No bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The Council of the City of Wauseon, Ohio, reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids. The estimate for the base bid cost of construction is $348,315.
