Each bid must be accompanied by a standard form bid bond, made payable to the City of Battle Creek, in an amount of not less than five (5%) percent of the base bid submitted. Failure of any accepted bidder to enter into a contract for the work will cause forfeit of the bid security. We do not accept certified checks in lieu of bid bond The accepted bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory performance bond and labor/materials payment bond, each in an amount equal to 100% of the contract and insurance certificate upon forms acceptable to the City Each addendum will be on file in the Office of the Purchasing Agent. To the extent possible, copies will be mailed to each person registered as having received a set of bid documents. It shall be the bidder's responsibility to make inquiry as to addenda issued. All such addenda shall become a binding part of the contract Bids may be withdrawn up to the time and date of the bid opening. After the bid opening, bids may not be withdrawn for a period of ninety 90 days thereafter. The City of Battle Creek reserves the right to waive any irregularity or informality in bids, to reject any and/or all bids, in whole or in part, or to award any contract to other than the low bidder, should it be deemed in its best interest to do so.
