Renovation of an educational facility in Irvine, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
DESCRIPTION: Contractor to modify five (5) rooms on floors 5-9 to create H2/H3 occupancy type rooms for chemicals storage. Project should provide dedicated exhaust fan and a shaft for duct work, gas detection system, gas cabinets, storage shelves, and all other required equipment per construction drawings for chemical storage rooms. Contractors to install two (2) underground main water feed for fire suppression system (sprinkler), and all required piping, equipment, and apparatuses for a fully functional sprinkler system. Contractor to repurpose the existing dry standby pipe as main wet sprinkler raiser for building, provide main branches on all floors for future expansion, and to install fully operation sprinklers branches for chemical storage rooms, only. ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION COST: $2.5 - $3 Million One (1) institutional or higher education project LOCATED IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA for which the firm served as the PRIME CONTRACTOR and for which the construction cost was at least $2,000,000. Two (2) institutional or higher education projects that included CONSTRUCTION OF NEW, AND/OR RENOVATION OF EXISTING SPACES IN AN OCCUPIED BUILDING for which the construction cost of this scope was at least $700,000. One (1) project that included the INSTALLATION OF AN UNDERGROUND MAIN FEED AND COMPLETE SPRINKLER SYSTEM FOR A NEW OR EXISTING BUILDING One (1) project that included the INSTALLATION OF NEW SUPPLY AND/OR EXHUAST FANS, DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM (DUCTWORK), AND DDC TO CONTROL THE SYSTEM FOR A RETROFITTED SPACE WITH A MINIMUM OF 3,000 SQ FT. One (1) project for which your firm SELF-PERFORMED AT LEAST 10% of the construction. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the bid documents and to pay prevailing wage rates at the location of the work. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a Bid for this project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to California Labor Code Sections 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under Labor Code section 1771.1(a)]. No contractor or subcontractor may be awarded any portion of this project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour as of 10/1/17) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements.
