Reference Number 0000266057 Question Acceptance Deadline 2024/03/22 02:00:00 PM EDT Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre is seeking one Proponent for the provision of comprehensive professional Groundskeeping Services and Waste Pick Up services. Grass Cutting / Trimming 1 Grass Cutting The grass will be maintained at a length of 2.5" - 3.0" (63.5mm - 76.2mm). All garbage, litter and debris to be removed before cutting. Grass clippings to remain on grass area. All grass clippings on sidewalks, pathways, and other paved areas must be removed after each mowing operation. Once the Proponent commences a cycle, the cutting will be continuous until completed. This Service is to be performed for all grass covered areas within the property line identified within the TBRHSC Site Plan and ICR Discoveries Site Plan. If clippings are highly visible following a cutting cycle, grass will be cut again to mulch for even distribution and less visibility. The Proponent shall not cut any grass during rainfall or for a minimum of one (1) hour after rainfall. If soil conditions are sufficiently soft to cause wheel ruts, the Proponent shall not operate equipment until soil conditions improve. Any damage as a result of operating on soft soil conditions will be rectified by and at the expense of the Proponent. 2 Trimming The Proponent shall trim grass biweekly around all signs, posts, shrubs, flower beds, tree rings, utility hardware terminals, along fence lines, sidewalk curbs, culvert ends, guardrails, retaining walls and any other obstacle on properties and boulevards. All grass clippings on sidewalks, pathways, and other paved areas must be removed after each trimming operation. The Proponent must cut or remove grass or weed from fence(s) when encountered so that no growth is visible. The Proponent shall pick up and remove litter, debris and waste, including used smoking materials, animal feces, diapers, excess material, drug paraphernalia, such as needles, and dispose of it utilizing the appropriate local and municipal disposal site(s) and method(s) on a daily basis. This is to be performed for all areas within the property line identified within the TBRHSC Site Plan and ICR Discoveries Site Plan, including but not limited to, roadways, roadway islands, easements, parking lots, ditches, sidewalks, entrances, flower beds, shrub beds and any other area where such materials may be found. The Proponent is responsible for the removal and disposal of all waste from site. The frequency of this Service is daily or more frequently as required to keep the TBRHSC grounds clean and free of litter/debris/waste accumulation. The Proponent shall empty garbage cans, as identified within the TBRHSC Site Plan at least once daily, or more often as required in order to ensure they do not overflow. The supply and replacement of heavy duty garbage bags after each removal will be the responsibility of the Proponent. The Proponent is responsible for the removal and disposal of the garbage bags from site. Space is available on TBRHSC property to place a commercial waste bin within reason and upon request and approval by TBRHSC. Waste Pick Up and Pressure Washing Services are required May 1st through April 30th each year of the Contract term. The contract term will start on or before May 1, 2024.
