Question Deadline: Mon Mar 25, 2024 4:00 PM (EDT) The City is soliciting Bids for the supply oflabour, equipment and materials for the replacement and rehabilitation of two bridges and replacement of culverts. Bidders shall refer to the contract drawings for the locations. The scope of work for this project includes but is not limited to the following: (a) Pedestrian Bridge (P026) - Summerdale Park Pedestrian Bridge- German Mills Side Tributary- Summerdale Park o The contractor need to prepare dewatering plan/ drawings and submit to City as soon as possible in order to obtain the approval from TRCA. City staff will submit the dewatering plan/ drawings on behalf of the contractor and will obtain the approval from TRCA within a reasonable time frame. Supply, install and maintain environmental protection, coir logs, geotextile working mats, sediment trap, silt fence, TRCA requirement for dewatering plan system ofwork area, required cofferdams at upstream/ downstream and set up bypass pump and temporary pipping as required based on TRCA approval, maintain and necessary repair of access roads to the bridge. o Remove, di le existing whole steel bridge, abutments, approaches, and design, replace new steel bridge (bridge span will be increased to 12 meter and elevation of bridge to be increased 1 meter), new concrete abutments including supply and install new helical piles including railing and all deck and railing wooden planks and pertaining works, engineer stamp drawings for bridge, connections, and helical piles to be provided by contractor for consultant review before fabrication and installation. o Supply, install new topsoil and seeding as erosion control method (use hydroseeding or pneumatic seeding) and rip raps at 4 quadrants adjacent to abutments and underneath of bridge to stabilize the embankment and slope. o Supply, install and compact new granular materials/ soil and asphalt as specified on the contract documents for approach pavement at both sides ofthe bridge. o Supply and install two bollards with concrete footings at both sides of approach to the bridge. o Supply and install new hand railing at four (4) sides of new bridge including concrete footings, baseplates, and all pertaining works. o Clean -up and perform restoration ofthe site after completion ofwork. o Remove, dispose existing whole wooden bridge, abutments, approaches except wooden piles that to be maintained and remained, and replace new wooden bridge as specified in the contract's documents, new concrete retaining toe walls including supply and install new railings and all deck wooden planks and pertaining works, engineer stamp drawings for connections of bridge to be provided by contractor for consultant review before installation. Supply and install new concrete retaining toe walls and subdrain pipes as specified on the contract documents at both sides of bridge o Supply, install and compact new granular materials/soil and asphalt as specified on the contract documents for approach pavement at both sides ofthe bridge. o Supply and install two bollards with concrete footings at both sides of approach to the bridge. o Clean -up and perform restoration ofthe site after completion ofwork. (c) Culverts (C222) - 19th Avenue o Supply, install and maintain environmental protection, coir logs, geotextile and working mats, silt fence, cofferdams as shown at inlet and outlet and set up bypass pump and temporary pipping as required, requirements for staging/stockpiling areas, TRCA requirement for dewatering plan ofwork area and required sediment trap. o Supply, install and maintain traffic control and traffic protection measures. o Excavate, remove, and dispose existing two CSP culvert pipes, granular/ soil and asphalt materials to replace with new three 1200mm HDPE pipes including supply and install new river stone and granular materials for bedding of pipes as specified on the contract's documents. \ o Supply, install new rip rap^^top, and betwe^^^^^^^^^ o Supply, install and compact new granular materials/soil and asphalt as specified on the contract documents for roadway over the culverts and regrading embankment slopes. o Asphalt pavement marking at specified repaired areas. o Supply and install river stone/rip rap at inlet and outlet of culverts and improve slope embankment.
