Conceptual plans call for the addition of a educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; for the renovation of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to solicit qualified and interested firms to submit proposals for providing the following Engineering Services: Lot 1: MEP (in house mechanical, electrical and plumbing under one entity, inclusive of building automation controls and controls sequencing automation) Lot 2: Fire Protection (in-house owned by MEP or separate independent firm not a sub-consultant to MEP) Lot 3: Structural (separate independent firm, not a sub-consultant to MEP or Fire Protection) Powhatan County Public Schools is responsible for many different types of properties. During its normal course of operations, the School Board recognizes the need for engineering services such as mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and structural for its facilities portfolio including but not limited to additions to existing facilities and facilities under renovation, systems studies, research, concept planning and construction cost estimating. Specifically excluded are site civil engineering services and building commissioning. It is with this broad scope of potential work that the School Board seeks proposals from firms with the capacity to match the potential work efforts for each project. The following projects are included the Powhatan County Public Schools Capital Improvement Plan in the next five years: 1. Powhatan HS HVAC Replacement (RTU's, AHU's, Hydronic Pumps, Zone Dampers) 2. Pocahontas ES HVAC Replacement (RTU's, AHU's, Fan Coil Units, Unit Ventilators, Zone Dampers) 3. Landmark Center HVAC Replacement (DOAS, AHU's, Fan Coil Units, Chiller and Chilled Water Pumps) 4. Landmark Center Demolition of Abandoned Wings (Demolition of approximately 45,000 square feet of unused space) 5. Powhatan HS Roof Replacement (Approximately 150,000 square feet) 6. Powhatan HS CTE Classroom and Lab Space Addition The Engineer will work directly with Powhatan County Public Schools or its designated agent. As used herein, Engineer shall mean either the MEP Engineer, Fire Protection Engineer or Structural Engineer.
