Upgrade to the Wasaga Stars Arena. TIMELINE: A Request For Proposals has been issued by the Town of Wasaga Beach. The Town is seeking bids for consultants to undertake Wasaga Stars Arena, Facility Needs Assessment. Key components of the study are to include, but not be limited to: Engage staff, stakeholders and community to identify any current and future indoor recreation facility needs by scheduling revenues, operating and capital expenses as well as community benefit. Identify key trends and demand indicators that may impact indoor recreation facility provision Study should identify shortfalls or overages of recreation facility capacity and clearly define growth areas related to the #425 RRW property. Further Review of the Town Allocation Policy is slated for late 2024 and study will need to both be informed and reflect policy development lead by staff aligning both opportunities and necessary improvements or areas of concern. Evaluate the current state of the old Wasaga Stars Arena, located at 425 River Road West (RRW), in terms of structural integrity, safety, and functionality. Assess the financial feasibility of potential upgrades or renovations. Explore alternative options for the sale or redevelopment of the arena and subject property. Conduct a market analysis to identify potential uses and demand for the arena. Develop a comprehensive strategy that includes recommendations for highest and best use, potential partnerships, and funding sources. Question Deadline: Wednesday March 20, 2024. 5:00:00 PM (EDT).
