Bryan County is soliciting bids from experienced and qualified Contractors who are interested in submitting a proposal and entering into a contract for crack sealing, single surface treatment, microsurfacing, and thermoplastic striping along Wilma Edwards Road (4.22 miles), from Hendrix Road to Hwy 119 in North Bryan County. Wilma Edwards Road - 66,921 SY (4.22 miles) - Hendrix Road to Hwy 119 in North Bryan County: crack sealing, single surface treatment and single application of micro surfacing. Striping with Thermoplastic. Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, including without limitation, the rights to reject any or all nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced or conditional Bids and to reject the Bid of any Bidder if Owner believes that it would not be in the best interest of the County to make an award to that Bidder, whether because the Bid is not responsive or the Bidder is unqualified or of doubtful financial ability or fails to meet any other pertinent standard or criteria established by the Owner. It is understood and agreed that the bidder agrees that this bid shall be an option, which is hereby given to the Owner to accept or reject this bid at any time within sixty (60) calendar days from the date on which it is opened and read. It is expressly covenanted and agreed that this proposal is not subject to withdrawal by the bidder during the term of said option. The party submitting the bid is solely responsible for delivering the bid to the exact location and by the time stated. The successful contractor shall provide the following treatments on an estimated 4.22 miles of Bryan County roads: o Crack Seal application - 4.22 miles. o Surface treatment - 4.22miles (66,921 SY) o Single application of micro surfacing-4.22 miles (66,920 SY) 2. All work will be done by GDOT SPECIFICATIONS, which includes the following but not limited to: o Section 424 - Bituminous Surface Treatment o Section 428 - Micro Resurfacing 3. The funding for this project includes Bryan County's LMIG funds provided by GDOT. Due to this funding source the contractor must use only approved GDOT material sources from the GDOT QPL list and supply the County with required tickets of all materials used on the project. 4. Bituminous surface treatment will be either a single or double surface treatment with #89 stone. 5. Single application of micro surfacing will be placed at a spread rate of 24 lbs/sy. 6. Surface treatment will be placed from the center line and stop 6" before reaching the edge of pavement, typically where the edge striping is located. 7. Once the micro surfacing has been completed the contractor must place temporary paint centerline on the road within 24 hours. All additional temporary striping shall be included in the Mobilization and Traffic Control lump sum amount. 8. Contractors must warranty their work for a minimum period of one (1) year when applied to pavement in appropriate condition. The warranty includes coverage for peeling and pre-mature wear. 9. The contractor will be responsible for all traffic control during the project. 10. The contractor will prepare and distribute a flyer to the affected residents within the Wilma Edwards Road project with contact numbers to request information and potential lane or road closures 3 days in advance of the project beginning. 11. County willsupply a general information letter to the affected residents within the Wilma Edwards Road project 7 days in advance of the project. 12. If Contractor is going to use any subcontractors on this project Contractor shall provide a list provided with each company's name, contact person, and number and what portion of the task this subcontractor will be performing included in the bid package.
