Award amount is $140,605.35** The Project consists of one (1) base bid of improvements to the following roads: 4th street (from Palisade Ave to speedbump in front of 314 4th street) 7th Street (from speedbump in front of 517 7th street to West Street) Palisade Ave (from 13th street to 14th street) Bergenline Ave (from 17th street to speedbump in front of 1707 Bergenline Ave) 35th Street (from speedbump in front of 128 35th Street to speedbump in front of 138 35th street) 36th street (from JFK Blvd to speedbump in front of 614 36th street) 38th street (speedbump in front 532A 38th street) 39th street (from speedbump in front of 634 38th street to speedbump in front of 640 38th street) 42nd Street (from speedbump in front of 409 42nd street to speedbump in front of 419 42nd street) More specifically, work shall include traffic control, HMA milling, paving, speed hump, and traffic markings. All work on this contract must be completed within 30-calendar days from issuance of a Notice to Proceed. Proposals must be made on the standard proposal forms included with the Contract Documents in the manner designated in the Contract Documents, must be enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the name and address of the bidder and the name of the project on the outside and be addressed to the City of Union City, and must be accompanied by a statement of consent of surety from a surety company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey and acceptable to the Owner and either a bid bond or a certified check drawn to the order of the City of Union City for not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount bid, except that the check shall not exceed $20,000.00. The successful bidder is hereby notified that a performance bond and labor and material (payment) bond for the full amount of this project is required. The right is also reserved to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities where such informality is not detrimental to the best interest of the Owner, except as to those items which are deemed mandatory and non-waivable set forth in N.J.S.A. 40A:11-23.2. Further, the Owner reserves the right to abandon the project and reject the bids entirely if any legal or state or federal administrative action is taken against the Owner which could delay or jeopardize the project from commencing. Event Bid notes: Paper copies will be sent via UPS or FedEx if the Contractor provides UPS or FedEx account information to defray the cost of this shipping method. Otherwise, paper copies will be sent via USPS. Contractor must submit within the same sealed bid envelope - 1 original proposal package and two (2) complete copies of the bid package (clipped, not stapled).
