50'x100' storage building for the Delaware County Sheriff's Department. Delaware County is seeking quotations on a storage facility to be erected at 1225 West Howard Street, Manchester, Iowa. The following specifications and dimensions shall apply to the costs of a completed site and finished building. The Delaware County Board of Supervisors reserves the right to waive noncompliance on minor technicalities on this specification and reject any or all bids if deemed to be in the best interest of Delaware County. This will be an alternate bid project (steel frame or wood frame), after all bids are submitted, the Delaware County Board of Supervisors will select the type of building that they feel is in the best interest of Delaware County. Building Details: 50' x 100' Pre-Engineered Steel or Wood framed building with 14 foot clear height sidewalls, two steel 3'x6'8"insulated walk in doors, two insulated 16' wide x 12' high overhead doors. Building to have painted galvanized exterior with wains coating. Color to be determined by the Sheriffs Department. Site Plan: Bid price shall include all labor and materials to complete work as referenced. The contractor is to backfill the inside of the concrete walls and footings with modified subbase or special backfill. The contractor will be required to provide and place 6" of modified subbase / special backfill under the floor and approach slabs. Material shall be properly compacted to Delaware County's approval. Use gradation Numbers 14 or 30 of the Iowa DOT Aggregate Gradation Table. Approximately 175 tons of material to be placed under the floor slab, 30 tons under the approach slabs and 105 ton to backfill the walls and footings. Payment will be based off of certified scale ticket Foundation: Contractor shall be responsible for foundation design that is appropriate for the Pre-Engineered Steel or Wood framed building proposed. The foundation design shall be submitted to Delaware County prior to construction for review. Foundation shall include a frost footing and walls that extend 6" above the floor slab. Item to include all excavation, backfill exterior walls, materials, equipment and labor for the completion ofthe foundation per design. The outside ofthe walls and footing are to be backfilled with dirt that was excavated for the foundation construction. Any additional dirt shall be disposed ofto the east ofthe building. Delaware County will provide construction staking.
